Tattoo Fundamentals:

Tattoo Fundamental is a course designed to specifically for entry level tattoo artists to begin their training in the field of tattoo artistry.  This course is considered our “All-In-One” course. It was designed for those individuals who cannot take the time that would be required for a traditional apprenticeship. This is active, fast-paced “hands-on” training. All aspects of tattooing are covered in this class, such as: safety, sterilization and BBP training, successful tattoo technique, color explanations, all about needles, tubes and inks, marketing, pricing, shop set-up and beyond. This course is custom tailored to meet the needs of the individual so all skill levels are welcome beginner through intermediate. Cost: $3900 which includes tattoo kit.

Tattoo Cover Up:

The Tattoo Cover-Up Course provides an education that is learner-centered, theoretically grounded, and practically rigorous.  Students demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving and positive interpersonal communication while meeting the expectations and demands of the Tattoo Artistry field including, but not limited to major principles of exploration pertaining to tattoo cover-ups, restoration concepts, re-do concepts and marketing their skills. Tattoo Cover-Up Course is designed to provide experienced tattoo artists with a high level of competence, advice and guidance in tattooing, specifically in the area of tattoo cover-ups.  Along with the popularity of tattooing comes many pieces that the customer may need changed, covered-up or restored. This course will show students the basic principles necessary for the successful completion of cover-ups and restorative work. This is a “hands-on” course working on several levels of corrective work. Cost: $2900.

Funding Options

Austin’s School of Spa Technology’s Tattoo Artistry program is approved for VA Benefits such as Post 9-11 GI Bill.

Austin’s School of Spa Technology is an eligible training provider under The Adult Career and Continuing Education Services-Vocational Rehabilitation program through New York State. They offer a full range of employment services that may be needed by someone with disabilities.

Austin’s School of Spa Technology is located near the heart of New York state’s capital, Albany, NY.

The Austin’s campus is only 6 miles from the Albany International Airport and the Amtrak Train Station. It is also 5 miles from the nearest Greyhound Bus Station.

You’ll never be bored after class or on the weekends. Enjoy the state capital and visit the Empire State Plaza, State Museum, Albany Museum of History and Art, Palace Theater & more.

Austin’s School of Spa Technology is only 2.5 miles from the nearest shopping center; Colonie Center. There is much to do at Colonie Center from the movie theater, restaurants such as Cheesecake Factory, PF Changs, Moes and Five Guys and the fabulous shopping.

Crossgates Mall is another shopping center that is only 4 miles away from the Austin’s Campus. This mall includes a movie theater, Dave & Busters, World of Beer and will soon be opening Latitude 360 – featuring a bowling alley, restaurant, bar and stage.

In addition to the shopping centers, Austin’s is also located near Saratoga, NY featuring The Saratoga Racetrack, Racino, Performing Arts Center (SPAC) featuring summer concerts and park recreation.
